Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the IKA UNAND Network platform ("Service"), operated by DPP IKA UNAND ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and DPP IKA UNAND. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

IKA UNAND Network is the official alumni community platform for Universitas Andalas, providing:

• Alumni profile creation and networking
• Event discovery and registration
• News and announcements
• Career and education timeline tracking
• Community features and forums

The Service is provided "as is" and may include advertisements, sponsored content, or third-party promotions.

3. User Responsibilities

By using the Service, you agree to the following responsibilities:

Accurate Information

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and maintain the accuracy of your account information. You may not impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Post spam, unsolicited communications, or false information
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

4. Account Verification

All user accounts must undergo alumni verification to access the platform. The verification process uses a scoring system with a maximum of 100 points:

Verification Criteria

• NIM Match: 40 points (40%)
• Year of Entry Match: 40 points (40%)
• Name Similarity: 15 points (15%)
• Graduation Year Match: 5 points (5%)

Verification Outcomes

• 70-100 points: Automatically verified (direct platform access)
• 40-69 points: Manual review required (pending for 24-48 hours)
• Below 40 points: Automatically rejected (registration blocked)

By registering, you consent to this verification process and the use of your information for alumni status confirmation.

5. Content and Conduct

User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of any content you post on the Service ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

Prohibited Content

You may not post content that:

• Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or offensive
• Violates the intellectual property rights of others
• Contains viruses, malware, or malicious code
• Promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence
• Compromises the privacy or safety of other users

Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, modify, or remove any User Content that violates these Terms. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly post prohibited content. However, we do not pre-screen content and are not responsible for User Content posted by others.

6. Intellectual Property

Platform Content

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by DPP IKA UNAND and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute our content without our prior written consent.

User Content Rights

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to post any User Content. You agree to indemnify us against any claims arising from your User Content.

Trademarks

"IKA UNAND Network," "Universitas Andalas," "IKA UNAND," and related logos and names are trademarks of DPP IKA UNAND and Universitas Andalas. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written permission.

7. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Discontinuation or Modification

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

9. Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through amicable discussion.

If amicable resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Inactivity for an extended period (60 months)
• Technical or security reasons

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DPP IKA UNAND shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
• Service interruptions, errors, or bugs
• User Content or actions of other users
• Third-party websites or services linked from the Service

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, to access the Service.

12. General Terms

Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and DPP IKA UNAND regarding the Service, superseding any prior agreements or communications.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign these Terms without restriction.
